Which Werner models include built-in leveling?
Built-in leveling applies to the MT-IAAL series: MT-18IAAL, MT-22IAAL, and MT-26IAAL. These are the leveling models of the WERNER Multi-Position Pro ladder.
Adjusts up to 7 inches to help stabilize the ladder on uneven ground, slopes, rough surfaces, or an uneven exterior step.

What is built-in hands-free leveling?
The foot-activated leveling legs adjust without the user having to reach down to engage. The leveling system provides up to 7 inches of adjustment to help achieve a stable setup on uneven surfaces.
What positions can the IAAL ladders transform into?
They convert into a double-sided twin step ladder, extension ladder, stairway ladder, 90-degree wall ladder, and two self-supported scaffold bases. A compatible plank and tie-downs are required for scaffold use.
Can a leveling model be used on stairs?
Yes. The levelers can be activated in the stairway step ladder position when the footing of the ladder is on soft or uneven ground. They should not be used on traditional staircases that are level.
How many height and position combinations are available?
Multi-position ladders are extremely versatile. Their adjustable heights and positions allow one ladder to perform the work of several different ladders.

Can it be used as an extension ladder or for roof access?
Yes, when the selected model has enough length and is set at the proper 4:1 ratio / 75.5-degree climbing angle. For roof access, extend at least 3 feet above the roof edge or landing.
Can the levelers help in extension mode?
Yes. On MT-IAAL models, the built-in levelers can help achieve a stable extension-ladder setup on uneven ground when used according to the instructions.
What is the load capacity?
MT-IAAL models are Type IAA ladders with a 375 lb. load capacity on each side. Total load includes the user, tools, and any materials.
What should be checked before climbing?
Always inspect the ladder before each use. Check the rungs, rails, feet, hardware, and all moving components for damage. Inspection forms can be found here.
Before climbing, always ensure the ladder is set up properly. Confirm hinges, locks, and levelers are fully secured into the correct position.
Are the leveling models aluminum?
Yes. The MT-IAAL ladders use lightweight aluminum PowerLite rails. Do not use aluminum ladders near electrical hazards; choose a properly rated fiberglass ladder instead.
How should the ladder be stored or transported?
Store and transport the MT ladder in the fully folded position. Always secure the ladder to prevent shifting, tipping, or damage during transport.
Store in a cool, dry area protected from excessive heat, moisture, and other conditions that could damage the ladder and its components.
Always follow the labels and instructions supplied with the ladder. Do not adjust while someone is standing on the ladder.
