Mar 18, 2014

Greenville, PA, March 18, 2014 – Once again, Werner is the official sponsor of the Werner Ladder Bracket Challenge on ESPN Radio’s Mike & Mike. For the past seven years, Werner has teamed up with co-hosts Mike “Greeny” Greenberg and Mike Golic to see who can create the most accurate bracket for the Men’s Basketball Tournament. The friendly competition between Mike and Mike provides listeners and sports enthusiasts with lively commentary as the hosts duke it out to have the best picks each year.

At the end of the tournament, the host with the worst bracket will have to participate in the annual “stunt”, scheduled for April 9, 2014 on ESPN’s campus in Bristol, CT. This year, fans will get to revel in “The Best of the Bets,” a collection of challenges that takes a trip down memory lane with the best and most memorable stunts over the years. Each hour of the program, beginning at 6 a.m. ET, will feature a unique and embarrassing experience. At 6 a.m. they will kick it off with eyebrow waxing, 7 a.m.  listeners will hear a singing performance of a current pop hit resembling Greeny’s act back in 2012. At 8 a.m. one of the Mikes will participate in a competitive eating competition and the final hour will conclude with milking a cow. This year, the Werner Ladder Bracket Challenge loser will be presented with a complete ensemble of activities promising incredible entertainment for the fans.

Participation in the 2014 Werner Ladder Bracket Challenge is open to anyone and brackets must be submitted before the games begin on Thursday March 20, 2014. All college basketball fans can compete against Mike and Mike by joining their group and creating a bracket at http://promo.espn.go.com/espnradio/werner/2014/index?next=home.  One lucky participant will be randomly selected to receive the grand prize, a VIP visit to ESPN in Bristol including roundtrip airfare for two to NYC with 4 days/3 nights hotel and $200 spending money.

“This contest has been a special part of our show for what feels like forever,” said Mike Greenberg. “I look forward to watching this year from the bench.” Mike Golic responded, “Listeners are going to love seeing me four-peat Greeny and embarrass him one more time.” Werner is also sponsoring the “Climbing to the Top” feature, which provides a platform for ESPN Radio hosts to debate which teams are going to make it to the championship game and ultimately climb the Werner ladder to cut down the nets. This segment offers Mike & Mike, Colin Cowherd, Scott Van Pelt and Ryan Russillo the opportunity to share the trials and tribulations of the college coaches, teams and players on their journey to winning it all.
