Werner® steps up trade offering with two new launches
Sep 16, 2014
Werner, the world leader in ladders, is further strengthening its offering to the trade with two new products developed with the busy professional in mind.
The Extension Plus and Master Trade Stepladder have been designed to maximise the amount of time users can work at height, helping them complete the job more efficiently and save time on site as a result.
The aluminium Extension Plus is, as its name suggests, much more than an extension ladder, it’s a combination ladder that transforms from an extension ladder in three easy steps.
A specially designed mechanism means the ladder converts with a quick and easy sliding action, transforming into a large stepladder, stairwell ladder and freestanding extension (x4 model only). Stiles automatically click and lock into place for safe operation, offering absolute peace of mind.
This hardworking ladder features a newly designed locking bar which increases safety by holding the open ladder in place. Despite added functionality the ladder remains easy to move around thanks to specially engineered stile profiles that keep it light but strong. Thumb operated locking catches prevent sections from separating when in use, being transported or stored.
The Extension Plus is hardwearing too, with box section stiles for maximum rigidity and protective end caps to avoid damage to the ladder from knocks and scrapes. Werner’s slip resistant ‘D’ shaped rungs and feet provide a stable footing, keeping you comfortable for long periods of time.
The Master Trade Stepladder is the first in a new line of ladders from Werner that sees the design of traditional models further refined for unbeatable performance.
Durable enough to cope with even the toughest jobs, the aluminium Master Trade Step features solid rivet construction throughout and heavy gauge plastic edge caps for a smooth profile. Heavy-duty spreaders make the ladder easy to open and close, while a fully braced bottom section, large slip resistant feet, and a raised first tread at natural stepping height result in a no-fuss ladder that will stand up to everyday wear and tear.
Meanwhile the lower hinge design offers a compact footprint that enables users to get closer to their work – perfect for complex jobs or finishing touches.
Paul Bruton, UK Product Development Director at Werner said: “With welcome reports that the construction industry is showing further signs of recovery, it’s never been more important for trade professionals to have the best equipment for the job.
“Both the Extension Plus and Master Trade Stepladder have been engineered with progressive thinking which puts usability and safety first. The result is two products that can help make work more efficient, which means reduced time on site and better overall productivity.
“We are confident that both the Extension Plus and Master Trade Stepladder will become a mainstay of any job site for years to come – a confidence that is underlined by our 25 year guarantee, which comes free with all our products as standard.”
The Extension Plus offers a 150kg load capacity and is available in five heights. The Master Trade Step Ladder is available in seven heights, with 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12 or 14 treads.
