MT-22 22 ft Type IA Telescoping MultiLadder is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 27.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Requires two people to use I'm sick and tired of equipment made so heavy and awkward to handle that it requires a two person team just to move it and get it in place for work. Ladders should not be a project unto themselves!!!!! Will never buy another ladder that I cannot carry and assemble myself.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Multi ladder This thing is a piece of junk. Spent quite a bit on this ladder. used it once now one of the locking mechanism is stuck in a locked position. I have tried everything to unlock it and as a result broke the plastic pieces on the end. I will never buy another product from this company.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Locking mechanism broke I had the ladder for 3 years. I infrequently used the ladder. I got it out to work on my arbor and the lock broke on one side. Given the use it got I felt that poor quality was the problem. I ordered the replacement part and hope instruction for installation come with the part.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Strong, Compact and Versatile I have one these ladders almost 9 years and I would easily be using it several times a week, if not several times a day. I really like it because it has a good solid and stable feel to it and I always feel safe on it.A lot of my customers have even commented about its robust appearance and how easy it can adapt to my needs and still fold up nice and compact.Best ladder I have ever owned.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very sturdy and very heavy ladder There are trade-offs with any product and that is true for this ladder. The MT-26 provides a very stable 13 foot step ladder but it also is very heavy and the steps are less than half as wide as those of a regular step ladder and so not comfortable for standing on for any amount of time. The rungs are also too far apart to use something like the Werner AC24 tray so I need to tie a bucket to the ladder for parts I need when at the top.Very easy to adjust the height on each side and not have to support the entire weight of the ladder. I have similar ladders and they are not nearly as easy to adjust even though they are much shorter ladders. As this is a very heavy ladder I would recommend buying only as tall a MT ladder as you actually will need.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from 1.0 out of 5 starsNot very useful for practical purpose I bought this ladder a couple of months back from Home Depot, I never used it. It is too heavy to maneuver, actually I hurt my shoulder by moving from one place to another (not very for, within garage). When I bought it I thought I can use it as 2 ladder, a small one and a big one. Then when I red the instruction, it cannot be used as two different ladder. I should have red the reviews in Amazon; Maybe if you want for heavy duty work it is useful. But not very useful and practical for frequent use

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very happy with the ladder We have a high stair way that we wanted to hang family pictures. For 3 years we couldn't figure out an easy way to hang the pictures and decided to try the MT-26 after reading other reviews. We were very happy with how easy it was to configure for the stairs and how stable the ladder was. It was a lot easier to break the ladder down when we were done for the day. Just had to make sure there wasn't pressure on the hinge points so the locks would operate smoothly. This is a heavy ladder and it took my wife and I to move the ladder on the stair way. My wife doesn't have a lot of upper body strength, but it was very easy for the two of us to move the ladder up and down the stairs. I could have done the set up if the stair way wasn't finished and you weren't too concerned about little nicks and dings in the sheet rock.We should have bought the ladder several years ago.

How can I set this up to paint an 18' stairwell?

Asked by: Anonymous
When in the A frame position, the MT-22 has a maximum height of 9 feet. When used in the straight ladder position, the MT-22 has a maximum height of 19 feet. To use the MT-22 in the straight ladder position in a stairwell would require the use of leg levelers. The PK70-1 leg levelers will work with the MT series ladders to all the ladder to be used on uneven surfaces.

Are there preset stops for the ladder hinge? If so, what are they?

Is it only possible to have the ladder straight (like and extension ladder) and set as a step ladder or can you set it at an angle so the top part of the ladder goes part way up the roof line?

What about the MT1-22 (found at Home Depot)

I asked a question about a multi-function ladder which was equivalent to or greater than an 8 foot step ladder. My answer stated either an MT-22 or an MT-26. I just was in the Home Depot and they have a Werner MT1-22 which is a Type-1 (instead of a Type-1A) and is for 250 pound folks instead of the Type-1A which is for 300 pound folks. You did not mention this. Is this a valid ladder produced by Werner?
Asked by: Anonymous
We apologize for the inconvenience. The MT1-22 is a valid model produced by Werner Co. This ladder will work for you also.

Can one side of the ladder be dropped one notch so that it can get closer to a wall?

Others advertises this feature but the Werner instruction book does not show it as an acceptable configuration.
Asked by: Anonymous
The MT ladders should not be used with one side of the ladder in a vertical position. The ladder should only be used in the approved and diagramed positions in the ladder instruction manual.

Different types of ladders are designed to keep you safe and productive when climbing or standing. Using the wrong style of ladder or simply ignoring the limitations of climbing equipment can result in a fall or serious injury.
Height is referring to the actual ladder height. Extension ladders should be 7 to 10 feet longer than the highest support or contact point, which may be the wall or roof line. The highest standing level is four rungs down from the top. The highest permitted standing level on a stepladder is two steps down from the top.

Reach height is the maximum reach assuming a 5’6” person with a vertical 12” reach.
Ladders are designed to safely hold up to a specific amount of weight. The Werner Performance System defines five different capacities using a color and star rating system. The Duty Rating is defined as the maximum safe load capacity of the ladder. A person’s fully clothed weight plus the weight of any tools and materials that are carried onto the ladder must be less than the load capacity.

Werner offers ladder made from fiberglass and aluminum. Each material has characteristics which make it best for certain applications, or one material may simply fit the personal preferences of the user. For example, if working around electricity users should select fiberglass products due to their non-conductive side rails.
