Answer:
The MK number should be located on the duty rating on the side rail of the ladder. If you do not see it there please look on the bottom 4ft of each side rail. A code stamp should be engraved there which is a series of numbers and letters.
Example: 0987 44C 12
-the 12 would be the MK #

With that information you can go on our website and find the replacement parts available for your ladder.

Answer:
The locking mechanisms on the extension ladder are made to hold the fly section of the ladder in the extended position. To extend the ladder, simply slide the fly section of the ladder in an upward direction. The ladder locks will engage on each rung, until the desired height is reached. When using the ladder for the first time, there may be some packaging, tape or even the rope tied to the ladder preventing the extension or locks from moving.

Answer:
When the extension section is raised, the locks will fully engage by hooking over the base rung. The locks should be seated fully on both rungs, one on the fly and one on the base. When the locks are fully engaged, the fly section will remain secured in place.

Answers

Answer:
The D1116-2 Type III Aluminum extension ladder is rated for a maximum load capacity of 200 pounds. The load capacity of the ladder includes the user plus all materials used while on the ladder. The ladder's maximum load capacity should never be exceeded. Ladders of a higher weight capacity are available in 225 pound, 250 pound, 300 pound and 375 pound duty ratings. The appropriate ladder should be used for the weight that will be on the ladder.

It mentions that the levelers are compatible with 1100 series ladders "Mark 14 and higher". In the NOTES section on the box it mentions the requirement for kit NO. 36-9 on two section D1100 series ladders. I don't find that kit mentioned or featured anywhere on your website.

Answer:
The 36-9 kit is a wear sleeve kit that is needed for use with the D1100-2 series extension ladders when using the PK80-2. This kit adds space between the base and fly sections of the ladder to allow the ladder to open and close smoothly with the levelers installed.

Answer:
In general, the Werner Co does not manufacture 16 foot extension ladders with a rope and pulley. When the ladder is fully extended, the bottom rung of the fly section is only 5 feet off of the ground. This can easily be reached by hand to raise and lower the ladder. A rope and pulley are available to be put on a ladder, if desired.

Different types of ladders are designed to keep you safe and productive when climbing or standing. Using the wrong style of ladder or simply ignoring the limitations of climbing equipment can result in a fall or serious injury.
Height is referring to the actual ladder height. Extension ladders should be 7 to 10 feet longer than the highest support or contact point, which may be the wall or roof line. The highest standing level is four rungs down from the top. The highest permitted standing level on a stepladder is two steps down from the top.

Reach height is the maximum reach assuming a 5’6” person with a vertical 12” reach.
Ladders are designed to safely hold up to a specific amount of weight. The Werner Performance System defines five different capacities using a color and star rating system. The Duty Rating is defined as the maximum safe load capacity of the ladder. A person’s fully clothed weight plus the weight of any tools and materials that are carried onto the ladder must be less than the load capacity.

Werner offers ladder made from fiberglass and aluminum. Each material has characteristics which make it best for certain applications, or one material may simply fit the personal preferences of the user. For example, if working around electricity users should select fiberglass products due to their non-conductive side rails.
