The manual says to regularly lubricate the moving parts, but does not specify what to use or where. WD-40 gets everywhere; what's the solution?

Answer:
When used as a step ladder, the M1 series ladders are a twin or a double stepladder. A twin sided step ladder has the load rating as a per side rating. For the M1 ladders, the load rating would be 300 pounds per side.

Answer:
Replacement parts are available for the M1 ladders, however, the exact model number and Mark/MK number are needed. Each ladder has a unique set of replacement parts that are identified by the ladder's ID information. The ID information can be found on a label, on the side of the ladder, on the same label that states the ladder's weight capacity. Replacement parts can be ordered online, through the replacement parts section of the Werner website.

Answer:
Leg levelers are not approved for use with the M1 series of ladders. The stabilizer base does not allow for the levelers to be attached, or allow for easy leveler use.

Answer:
The M1 ladders have several different configurations that could be used with a stairwell. These positions include the stairwell scaffold, stairwell ladder and scaffold, and the extended span scaffolding. Each of these positions involves configuring the ladder so that one end is on the landing, and the other on a step. Please refer to the installation instructions for diagrams and a complete breakdown of proper set up for each position.

It would be good to have a working platform when the folding ladder is used in a "normal" ladder configuration.

Answers

Answer:
The AC18MT should only be used with the MT series of ladders. This platform will only attach to the unique shape of the rungs on the MT ladder. The M1 ladders, as well as standard step and extension ladders do not have a platform available.

Different types of ladders are designed to keep you safe and productive when climbing or standing. Using the wrong style of ladder or simply ignoring the limitations of climbing equipment can result in a fall or serious injury.
Height is referring to the actual ladder height. Extension ladders should be 7 to 10 feet longer than the highest support or contact point, which may be the wall or roof line. The highest standing level is four rungs down from the top. The highest permitted standing level on a stepladder is two steps down from the top.

Reach height is the maximum reach assuming a 5’6” person with a vertical 12” reach.
Ladders are designed to safely hold up to a specific amount of weight. The Werner Performance System defines five different capacities using a color and star rating system. The Duty Rating is defined as the maximum safe load capacity of the ladder. A person’s fully clothed weight plus the weight of any tools and materials that are carried onto the ladder must be less than the load capacity.

Werner offers ladder made from fiberglass and aluminum. Each material has characteristics which make it best for certain applications, or one material may simply fit the personal preferences of the user. For example, if working around electricity users should select fiberglass products due to their non-conductive side rails.
