Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 21reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great for multiple uses Bought to use to get onto my two story roof ... Works great ... Also works to replace bulbs on chandler which is solid 18' upIs heavy at 65-70 lbs but i can easily work by myself February 25, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very happy with the ladder We have a high stair way that we wanted to hang family pictures. For 3 years we couldn't figure out an easy way to hang the pictures and decided to try the MT-26 after reading other reviews. We were very happy with how easy it was to configure for the stairs and how stable the ladder was. It was a lot easier to break the ladder down when we were done for the day. Just had to make sure there wasn't pressure on the hinge points so the locks would operate smoothly. This is a heavy ladder and it took my wife and I to move the ladder on the stair way. My wife doesn't have a lot of upper body strength, but it was very easy for the two of us to move the ladder up and down the stairs. I could have done the set up if the stair way wasn't finished and you weren't too concerned about little nicks and dings in the sheet rock.We should have bought the ladder several years ago. Rated 3 out of 5 by Disappointing quality control They should be more accurate when naming their ladders, so the ladder is easier to size for the job. When the ladder is in its "stored position" The top rung of the base section is covered with packaging. This hid a flaw in the assembly of the ladder which results in the rung being out of position. To compensate for this the locking pin was bent so it could reach the hole. May 23, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by This is fantastic ladder A buddy of mine got one for his house/garage & I was able to use it & this the BEST ladder I have ever seen.. I'm on my way to buy one rt now.. May 25, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by MT13 Have the Mt 13 ft ladder. When you want to divide for scaffold use, the one side is not very stable when you use the clamps to attach into the hole. They should have hinge locks like the other side. Would not use for scaffold. Good for only a ladder. February 7, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by NOT A 13' LADDER!!!! This ladder at the fully extended length is not even 11'. We purchased it to get on the roof of our motorhome and knew we needed a 13' ladder that this one is CLEARLY advertised as. January 27, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by A really versatile ladder and easy to transport. I bought the MT 22 to reach the fascia and lower roof levels for my two homes. I need access to hang Christmas lights and for roof & gutter cleaning. It replaced a small standard type 16 ft extension ladder. The MT 22 is about 6 foot in length folded that can fit is most SUV,s and in the back of my pickup truck without it having to hang well past the bumper as most extension ladders do.At first it seems a bit heavy (about 47lbs) but it makes for a very sturdy and stable platform. When setting it up as an extension ladder you must extend it out on the ground. Once it is up there is no rope to extend it because it is not kind of ladder. If its extended over 12 feet it can be a challenge to get it up against the wall. As one other reviewer stated you must walk it up. But once it is up and you are on it, you can really feel the stability. At my place if work I have four ladders, three A frames and one 28' ft extension, all of them are Werner's. There are dozens of different types of ladders because no one ladder can do it all. I'm considering adding this one to the inventory to round out my needs for ladder climbing. It is a great ladder that fills a niche and by no means the only ladder you'll need. November 29, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by As far as ladders are concerned: Werner is the Best! I have wanted one of the MT-22 ladders for a while. My father-in-law has 3 different Werner ladders and loves them. I had borrowed his MT-22 a few weeks back and found it very easy to use. I had just told my wife I wanted a ladder for Christmas and then yesterday saw that Home Depot had the Werner MT-22 for sale for $125.00. A week long sale starting Black Friday. That's a crazy price for what you are getting in this ladder. When I was up at the register a cashier said to me she has two other customers before me purchase one. When Home adopts regular price is $197,Walmarts $263 I'm glad I went and bought one. This ladder will last for years. One of my son' s is home from college and he helped take it out of the car. He said,"Nice ladder Dad." If my comments help you in your research on ladder, great. If they didn't ,you will one day regret not getting a Werner! November 28, 2014

Answers

Answer:
The MT-22 load capacity is 300 lbs. That is the weight of a person and any load that they may carry while on the ladder.
Therefore, I would not recommend this ladder. I would recommend a ladder with a Duty Rating of 375 lbs. Some suggestions: T410 Twin Step Ladder or the D524-2 D-Rung Extension Ladder. You can visit the wernerco.com website to view those ladders with a 375 lb. duty rating.

My support point is at 16' 6" on the angle, ie 16 ' vertically.

How long is this ladder exactly at full extension?

What does "standing level" actually mean? Will the MT22 go beyond the 16' 6" needed?

I asked a question about a multi-function ladder which was equivalent to or greater than an 8 foot step ladder. My answer stated either an MT-22 or an MT-26. I just was in the Home Depot and they have a Werner MT1-22 which is a Type-1 (instead of a Type-1A) and is for 250 pound folks instead of the Type-1A which is for 300 pound folks. You did not mention this. Is this a valid ladder produced by Werner?

I need a multiLadder that can open to an equivalent of an 8 foot step ladder and that is around 30 pounds in order for me to easily lift it. I have a motor home that is high and needs the height of a standard 8 foot ladder. Can I get that with the MT-17, or do I have to have the MT-22 - or, do you have something else that will work. Can you please answer this as soon as possible? We are about to head out on a trip and I'd like to get the ladder before leaving. I have an 8 foot step ladder now, but I need something that will fold or collapse.

Answer:
The MT-22 and the MT-26 are the only multiladders that can reach a stepladder height of 8ft. The MT-22 weighs 47lbs and the MT-26 weighs 62.6lbs. You may also want to look at the M1A8-16B. This is a folding multiladder that will reach a stepladder height of 8ft but weighs 39.5lbs.

Different types of ladders are designed to keep you safe and productive when climbing or standing. Using the wrong style of ladder or simply ignoring the limitations of climbing equipment can result in a fall or serious injury.
Height is referring to the actual ladder height. Extension ladders should be 7 to 10 feet longer than the highest support or contact point, which may be the wall or roof line. The highest standing level is four rungs down from the top. The highest permitted standing level on a stepladder is two steps down from the top.

Reach height is the maximum reach assuming a 5’6” person with a vertical 12” reach.
Ladders are designed to safely hold up to a specific amount of weight. The Werner Performance System defines five different capacities using a color and star rating system. The Duty Rating is defined as the maximum safe load capacity of the ladder. A person’s fully clothed weight plus the weight of any tools and materials that are carried onto the ladder must be less than the load capacity.

Werner offers ladder made from fiberglass and aluminum. Each material has characteristics which make it best for certain applications, or one material may simply fit the personal preferences of the user. For example, if working around electricity users should select fiberglass products due to their non-conductive side rails.
