I have noticed that AH2512 is sold for $225.00 at Home Depot, while other retailers sell it at a starting price of $400.00. Are the one sold through Home Depot constructed the same? Are they built cheaper? Are all the same parts used?

Answer:
The AH2512 is manufactured the same way for all of our distributors. Home Depot would have the same design as any other distributor would. Pricing is solely provided and set by the distributor selling the product.

Will my feet hit the door when I'm climbing on the upper steps?

It appears that the door fits tightly against the ladder when opened, and will prevent you from using the upper steps. Is this correct? If correct, this would prevent me from crawling into the attic.

When the AH2210 is pulled down for use, your feet may come in contact when you are climbing the top section of the ladder.

Which replacement gas strut?

I have an AH2510B mark 2 attic ladder, it appears the upper mounting bracket was not bent properly at 90 degrees when being constructed and as a result the upper connector of the right (when ladder is open, standing at bottom of ladder looking up, it's the right strut that broke) gas strut broke. I want to replace this strut (and bend the upper bracket to 90 degrees) but am not sure if I need the #90lb or #135 strut?

Difference between AH2510 & AH2510B?

Amazon has the AH2510 aluminum attic ladder from a company w/ free shipping (not free Prime shipping) ...you have a link on your website that takes me to one of the national big-box retail hardware stores, which lists what appears to be the same ladder, but the model had a "B" at the end, shown as AH2510B - priced at a substantially lower price...what is the difference in the models? I'm wondering which is the better quality ladder or if there even is a difference?

The AH2510 and the AH2510B are physically the same ladder. The difference between the two is the AH2510B is packaged in a different style box.

Will this extra weight affect the performance?

Answers

Answer:
The standard gas struts on the AH2510 will not hold the extra weight on the ladder. However, kit number 36-81 is a heavy duty gas strut that will support more weight, allowing a piece of drywall to be placed over the door panel.

Answer:
The AH2510 will not work in replacing you existing attic ladder. With a 30 1/2"x54" rough opening and a floor to ceiling height of 10' 1/2" you would want the WH3010 attic ladder. The WH is a wood attic ladder. We do not manufacture an aluminum attic ladder to meet your dimensions.

Different types of ladders are designed to keep you safe and productive when climbing or standing. Using the wrong style of ladder or simply ignoring the limitations of climbing equipment can result in a fall or serious injury.
Height is referring to the actual ladder height. Extension ladders should be 7 to 10 feet longer than the highest support or contact point, which may be the wall or roof line. The highest standing level is four rungs down from the top. The highest permitted standing level on a stepladder is two steps down from the top.

Reach height is the maximum reach assuming a 5’6” person with a vertical 12” reach.
Ladders are designed to safely hold up to a specific amount of weight. The Werner Performance System defines five different capacities using a color and star rating system. The Duty Rating is defined as the maximum safe load capacity of the ladder. A person’s fully clothed weight plus the weight of any tools and materials that are carried onto the ladder must be less than the load capacity.

Werner offers ladder made from fiberglass and aluminum. Each material has characteristics which make it best for certain applications, or one material may simply fit the personal preferences of the user. For example, if working around electricity users should select fiberglass products due to their non-conductive side rails.
