Is it safe to stand on the platform at the top of the ladder?

The platform on the PT6006 is designed so that the user may stand on the platform. The platform provides a large standing surface so the user has a comfortable work area.

what are the small in facing extensions on the right and left side of the bottom step?

Asked by: pm
The part that you are referencing is used as a spacer. The purpose of this spacer it to prevent the side rails from slamming into each other which could over time cause the fiberglass to crack.

Can I work with both hands off this ladder while standing on the platform?

Changing light bulbs sometimes requires both hands to remove the fluorescent light bulbs. Does the manufacture state that you can work with both hands on this type of ladder? We all know we are required three points of contact while climbing and descending a ladder but what about on a platform ladder once on the platform to change the bulb?
Asked by: Farmington
Yes, when on the platform you can work hands free

Need replacement parts for PT6006

PT6006type 1 i'm looking for replacement (4# grating shoes & #4) rail shields, can you please direct me to the right place to buy replacements ?
Asked by: Nate
In order to determine if we have the feet as a replacement item for your ladder we would need the MK number off of the ladder. This number can be found on the duty rating sticker on the side rail of the ladder. If you have an MK of 4, 5, or 6 foot kit 21-7 will fit your model of ladder. Please visit our website at www.wernerladder.com and utilize our distributor locator to identify the nearest distributors in your area.

ladder parts

PT6006 type 1 I'm looking for replacement (4# grating shoes & #4) rail shields, can you please direct me to the right place to buy replacements ? This ladder I have does not have a MK # neither does your web site for this ladder, I must have a mk# for your replacement parts link to work. can you please give me the correct MARK number for this ladder
Asked by: Nate
If the MK number is not listed on the duty rating sticker on the side rail of the ladder, then it will be located on the underside of the bottom step. An example of this number would be 0987 44C 12. This number would then mean the ladder was manufactured in September of 1987 and the MK is 12. Once you found this number you can visit www.wernerco.com and put in your ladder information. This will bring up the replacement parts available for this ladder. You can also visit any of our distributors which you can find on that website as well.

Different types of ladders are designed to keep you safe and productive when climbing or standing. Using the wrong style of ladder or simply ignoring the limitations of climbing equipment can result in a fall or serious injury.
Height is referring to the actual ladder height. Extension ladders should be 7 to 10 feet longer than the highest support or contact point, which may be the wall or roof line. The highest standing level is four rungs down from the top. The highest permitted standing level on a stepladder is two steps down from the top.

Reach height is the maximum reach assuming a 5’6” person with a vertical 12” reach.
Ladders are designed to safely hold up to a specific amount of weight. The Werner Performance System defines five different capacities using a color and star rating system. The Duty Rating is defined as the maximum safe load capacity of the ladder. A person’s fully clothed weight plus the weight of any tools and materials that are carried onto the ladder must be less than the load capacity.

Werner offers ladder made from fiberglass and aluminum. Each material has characteristics which make it best for certain applications, or one material may simply fit the personal preferences of the user. For example, if working around electricity users should select fiberglass products due to their non-conductive side rails.
