Rated 4 out of 5 by from I like the ladder but need the rubber boots replaced Like others I need to replace the rubber boots on the legs of my ladder. Please make them available. My recommendation to buy this product hinges on whether it can be maintained in good working order. Thanks.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This product is great EXCEPT that the rubber tips don't last and no replacements! I've been a merchandiser for the past 5 years. I'm 5 ft so I have major issues with reaching the top shelves at most of my stores. I like the fact that this ladder is sturdy and light weight, BUT as others have complained I have issues with the rubber tips on the legs, they wear out too quickly or fall off and I can't find replacements. The first time it happened, my ladder slipped from underneath me, so I got another ladder. I am now on NUMBER 4! I don't want to go to another brand, but these ladders are not cheap and it's getting extremely expense to have to replace the ladders because of the tips being a safety hazard!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from UNABLE TO FIND REPLACEMENT RUBBER TIP Like the step stool and the company website still sells the model 223A-6. One of the rubber tips fell off. Disappointed that I cannot find the rubber tips for the front feet. I dont think its safe to use without it. The company should have the replacementparts or offer to replace the step stool.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from See Amazon.com for over 100 4 and 5 star ratings of this ladder This ladder is sturdy, compact, and a pleasure to use.I purchased via Amazon.com for an incredibly low price given the quality. I highly recommend this ladder to anyone. The only caveat is that the 'non-mar' feet need replacing since I frequently use ladder outside on my river rock landscaping (to prune trees). This is not a reflection on the ladder, but the replacement parts are not easily available on the Werner parts site. I hope Customer Service will be able to remedy this problem. Otherwise, fantastic ladder at an unbelievable price.

How do you make it fold?

I cannot get it to fold, no matter what I do. Is there a trick of some kind? I have unlocked the tab that says "lock" on the top step. Won't fold.
Asked by: Anonymous
After releasing the lock on the top step, firmly grasp the handle of the ladder with one hand, and with the other, the top step. While putting downward pressure on the handle, pull the top step up, releasing it, allowing it to fold.

How do you fold this ladder?

Asked by: Anonymous
We would direct you to grab the top of the ladder with your weaker hand and tilt the ladder towards you. Then with your strong hand grab the back of the ladder and pull/jerk straight up (obviously ensuring that the safety latch has been disengaged prior). The ladder should fold to a closed position.

Different types of ladders are designed to keep you safe and productive when climbing or standing. Using the wrong style of ladder or simply ignoring the limitations of climbing equipment can result in a fall or serious injury.
Height is referring to the actual ladder height. Extension ladders should be 7 to 10 feet longer than the highest support or contact point, which may be the wall or roof line. The highest standing level is four rungs down from the top. The highest permitted standing level on a stepladder is two steps down from the top.

Reach height is the maximum reach assuming a 5’6” person with a vertical 12” reach.
Ladders are designed to safely hold up to a specific amount of weight. The Werner Performance System defines five different capacities using a color and star rating system. The Duty Rating is defined as the maximum safe load capacity of the ladder. A person’s fully clothed weight plus the weight of any tools and materials that are carried onto the ladder must be less than the load capacity.

Werner offers ladder made from fiberglass and aluminum. Each material has characteristics which make it best for certain applications, or one material may simply fit the personal preferences of the user. For example, if working around electricity users should select fiberglass products due to their non-conductive side rails.
