We have a walkboard with a damaged end, can we cut off the damaged end nice and square and still use it

Asked by: Anonymous
We cannot suggest cutting off the damaged end on our stages. By cutting off the end of the stage, this will affect the duty rating of the stage. We cannot suggest doing this for safety purposes.

Is it possible to cantilever this type of platform ?

I have an application where I'd like to possible cantilever a 20" or 24" wide stage approximately 7'. If I can find a way to secure one end of the stage, will the last 7ft of the 20ft stage support a 500 lb load at the cantilevered end?

We do not suggest using our stages for the application that you described. This is something that has not been tested/approved by our engineers.

The labeling mentions that acids and caustics will damage the aluminum. Would bleach in house siding wash damage the stages?

Asked by: Anonymous
Bleach can stain the stage. On metals like aluminum these cleaners can etch the metals and leave mineral deposits that turn to rust or lead to corrosion.

Can I use this stage, 2524 20"W x 24' L Stage, with the AC10-20-03 3 Rung Long Body Ladder Jack

Asked by: Anonymous
Yes a 2524 can be utilized with a AC10-20-03. These ladder jacks accept stages up to 20" wide. Please keep in mind that you have to not exceed the duty rating of your ladder. If you have a 250 LB rated ladder and a 300 LB rated ladder you would have to consider the lower duty rating. The 2524 weighs in at 121 LBS so therefore you can divide that weight in half because it is static (-60.5 LBS). So now the most you can weight (person, clothing, material) that can be put on the stage is 189 LBS. We recommend that you only utilize ladder jacks with at least 300 LB rated extension ladders. Thank you for your inquiry.

Different types of ladders are designed to keep you safe and productive when climbing or standing. Using the wrong style of ladder or simply ignoring the limitations of climbing equipment can result in a fall or serious injury.
Height is referring to the actual ladder height. Extension ladders should be 7 to 10 feet longer than the highest support or contact point, which may be the wall or roof line. The highest standing level is four rungs down from the top. The highest permitted standing level on a stepladder is two steps down from the top.

Reach height is the maximum reach assuming a 5’6” person with a vertical 12” reach.
Ladders are designed to safely hold up to a specific amount of weight. The Werner Performance System defines five different capacities using a color and star rating system. The Duty Rating is defined as the maximum safe load capacity of the ladder. A person’s fully clothed weight plus the weight of any tools and materials that are carried onto the ladder must be less than the load capacity.

Werner offers ladder made from fiberglass and aluminum. Each material has characteristics which make it best for certain applications, or one material may simply fit the personal preferences of the user. For example, if working around electricity users should select fiberglass products due to their non-conductive side rails.
