Mounting this to I-beams

I want to mount this to (2) I- beams. How much overhang is allowed. What is best way to mount them?

All aluminum planks should be supported a minimum of 12 inches and a maximum of 18 inches on each end. Planks should be secured to the supports using U-Bolts or other suitable means. Tie-offs or guy wires are recommended to support the plank to prevent tipping.

Can this plank be used with two double stepladders to make a temporary scaffold?

Scaffolding planks may be used in conjunction with step ladders as explained by OSHA standards. Two step ladders shall be set up, with the scaffolding plank secured between the two ladders. Please refer to the guidelines for specifics on how to set up, secure, and use the scaffolding system.

Can I store this in an area that will get rained on when I am not using it?

Never store material on planks. Always keep planks free of foreign material. Do not permit oil, grease, or slippery material to accumulate on climbing or gripping surfaces. Our planks are made of aluminum, they are also made to be used outside, rain will not hurt them.

Is the 2020 suitable for a work bench or are the actual work-bench benches a different product?

On the pump jack system, the work bench is the component that holds the stage such as the 2020. The stage itself rest on a work bench located by each pole. The 2020 is a suitable stage to use on the work bench.

What is the deflection of a 2016 in the center?

What is the deflection distance of a 2016 when supported the recommended 12" from each end and loaded with 250# in the center?

The maximum deflection depends on the load applied. We test to UL1322. The maximum deflection of this model in the center with a 250lb load applied is almost 14”.

Connecting Planks

Are the 2000 series planks able to be joined through the handles end to end? I see that you have a "nestable" stage that is intended for this, but is the same connection possible with a 2000 series plank? What are the differences between these two planks? Thank You

Is the 2016 Stage just a weight-derated 2316 Stage?

Given that the sizes [12"W X 16'L X 4"H] are the same, AND that the WEIGHT is the same [48 lbs]; it seems that all of the extrusions [and their cross-sections] must be exactly the same for both of these products. In other words, are they the exact same product [except for weight-rating]; or is some additional forming of material done, which increases the weight-carrying-capacity [without increasing the actual weight of the product]? If further-formed, please describe.

While many products often use a standardized component during manufacturing, and the products may look similar, not all products are tested and rated to the same OSHA standards. Per OSHA, a product is labeled and rated for the specific standards which they are tested to. The products may have similar appearances, but each is rated based on the testing capabilities.

Different types of ladders are designed to keep you safe and productive when climbing or standing. Using the wrong style of ladder or simply ignoring the limitations of climbing equipment can result in a fall or serious injury.
Height is referring to the actual ladder height. Extension ladders should be 7 to 10 feet longer than the highest support or contact point, which may be the wall or roof line. The highest standing level is four rungs down from the top. The highest permitted standing level on a stepladder is two steps down from the top.

Reach height is the maximum reach assuming a 5’6” person with a vertical 12” reach.
Ladders are designed to safely hold up to a specific amount of weight. The Werner Performance System defines five different capacities using a color and star rating system. The Duty Rating is defined as the maximum safe load capacity of the ladder. A person’s fully clothed weight plus the weight of any tools and materials that are carried onto the ladder must be less than the load capacity.

Werner offers ladder made from fiberglass and aluminum. Each material has characteristics which make it best for certain applications, or one material may simply fit the personal preferences of the user. For example, if working around electricity users should select fiberglass products due to their non-conductive side rails.
