Do you have an OSHA information on the safety nets meeting fall protection

We would direct you to the OSHA website at www.osha.gov to review OSHA 1926.502 which relates to fall arrest systems such as nets and the standards which they must meet. Thank you for your inquiry.

Where do I tie my lanyard when I'm on a pump jack doing siding

Asked by: Coreyk5564
When using the Werner pump jack system, the user should not tie off to pump jacks. The anchor point must support 5000 pounds. It is recommended to tie off to a permanent structure above the area which you are working.

What configuration of the "Safety Net" constitutes fall protection and is a user's guide for the net available?

Asked by: Dan
Per OSHA a guardrail system can be any material such as screens, mesh, intermediate vertical members, etc. They need to be installed between the top edge of the guardrail system and the walking/working surface when there is no wall or parapet wall at least 21 inches high. These materials that can be used as a guardrail shall be capable of withstanding a force of at least 150lbs applied in any downward or outward direction. The PJ-SN complies with all these things. We do have installation instructions available for the PJ-SN. If you would like a copy of these please contact customers care M-F 8am-5pm EST at 888-523-3370.

To pass an intermediate support brace on a pump jack system, temporary support braces are required. The temporary support brace is installed above the intermediate brace so that the intermediate brace can be removed while passing. Refer to the instructions for further details on passing an intermediate brace.

if construction company working on my apt. building leave poles up during storm, should lightening become a safety issue?

It appears the aluminum poles have no grounding, and lightening storms are very common at this time...are they serving as lightening rods?

Do not use in inclement weather or high winds. Go to the following OSHA link: http://www.lightningsafety.noaa.gov/resources/OSHA_FS-3863_Lightning_Safety_05-2016.pdf

are the aluminum poles compatible with the steel pump jacks and workbench?

I am wondering if I can use the aluminum poles with the steel pump jacks and work bench holder or do i need to use wood poles?
Asked by: JL
The aluminum pumpjack poles are designed to be used with the aluminum pumpjack system. The steel pumpjacks are designed to be used with a wooden pole. The grip on the steel pumpjack will not hold on the rubber of the aluminum pole.

Different types of ladders are designed to keep you safe and productive when climbing or standing. Using the wrong style of ladder or simply ignoring the limitations of climbing equipment can result in a fall or serious injury.
Height is referring to the actual ladder height. Extension ladders should be 7 to 10 feet longer than the highest support or contact point, which may be the wall or roof line. The highest standing level is four rungs down from the top. The highest permitted standing level on a stepladder is two steps down from the top.

Reach height is the maximum reach assuming a 5’6” person with a vertical 12” reach.
Ladders are designed to safely hold up to a specific amount of weight. The Werner Performance System defines five different capacities using a color and star rating system. The Duty Rating is defined as the maximum safe load capacity of the ladder. A person’s fully clothed weight plus the weight of any tools and materials that are carried onto the ladder must be less than the load capacity.

Werner offers ladder made from fiberglass and aluminum. Each material has characteristics which make it best for certain applications, or one material may simply fit the personal preferences of the user. For example, if working around electricity users should select fiberglass products due to their non-conductive side rails.
