PS-48 4 ft Portable Scaffold is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good scaffold Scaffold is used for insulation. We go thru 3 a yearThey crack at web points. We use them daily on residential jobs . Good scaffold overall.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Concept-needs solid rubber wheels Our installers use your carts every day primarily to roll boxes of product through hospital hallways and construction sites. Being able to have one tool that allows us to both transport and stand on to install window treatments saves time. My only complaint is the cheap plastic wheels. It is inevitable that the wheels will get scarred up or a flat spot. Rolling them down a hallway is very loud. The planks start to rattle. We replace ours every 6 months or so because the welds break at the center hinge point from so much use and weight.

Are guardrails available for the PS-48 4' Portable Scaffold?

The general contractor on the project we are working on states: "Mobile (Baker-Style) scaffolding shall have adequate handrails, and mid-rails installed per manufactures instructions at any height." I am arguing that this scaffold can be used at 2' without handrails.
Asked by: Anonymous
The PS-48 Portable Scaffolding unit does not have guardrails available. This unit is only to be used one unit high, and not stacked.

Would you use the portable scaffold on an ice rink?

If not do you have the OSHA regs for why it is a bad idea or even your disclaimer would work too. Thanks

It is not recommended to use this product on an ice rink. The product instruction labels state that the scaffold should be erected on firm, level ground.

Different types of ladders are designed to keep you safe and productive when climbing or standing. Using the wrong style of ladder or simply ignoring the limitations of climbing equipment can result in a fall or serious injury.
Height is referring to the actual ladder height. Extension ladders should be 7 to 10 feet longer than the highest support or contact point, which may be the wall or roof line. The highest standing level is four rungs down from the top. The highest permitted standing level on a stepladder is two steps down from the top.

Reach height is the maximum reach assuming a 5’6” person with a vertical 12” reach.
Ladders are designed to safely hold up to a specific amount of weight. The Werner Performance System defines five different capacities using a color and star rating system. The Duty Rating is defined as the maximum safe load capacity of the ladder. A person’s fully clothed weight plus the weight of any tools and materials that are carried onto the ladder must be less than the load capacity.

Werner offers ladder made from fiberglass and aluminum. Each material has characteristics which make it best for certain applications, or one material may simply fit the personal preferences of the user. For example, if working around electricity users should select fiberglass products due to their non-conductive side rails.
