D6236-2 36 ft Type IA Fiberglass D-Rung Extension Ladder is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not impressed the metal guide that keeps the 2 pieces together jumped the track, basically nullifying the ability to extend it. Have tried multiple ways to fix it to no avail.I am a large man and need a large capacity extension ladder, but this has not worked out, for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent quality with an excellent price. Purchased this a few months ago and appreciate the stability which standard aluminum ladders can't seem to provide.

What accessories would I need in order to use this ladder to change bulbs in parking lot pole lights?

The fixtures are approximately 28 feet above ground. According to the information I've found, a 36-foot ladder would be the recommended length. The 71-1 V-Rung appears to fit this ladder and I've found mention of a strap that can be used to secure a ladder against the pole, but it only fits those with looped ends. Is there anything similar for the D6236-2 to keep it from parting company with the pole while I'm juggling light bulbs?
Asked by: FireStomper
For use with the D6200-2 series ladders, there are accessories available to help the ladder stay secured to a utility pole. The adjustable pole lash assembly, kit number 91-2, works in the same manner as the 81-3 does with the hoop end caps. However, the 91-2 does have mounting brackets in the kit that will attach to the top of the D6236-2. Also, the Ladder Cinch, kit number 94-2, will help keep the ladder in place. The Ladder Cinch is used as a quick tie down closer to the ground.

What is th difference between the D6336-2 model and the D6236-2 model?

When I compare them the specs and descriptions appear the same.
Asked by: Kikr
The D6336-2 and D6236-2 are both comparable 36 foot fiberglass extension step ladders. Both ladders are rated for 300 pounds and meet the same testing specifications. The difference in the ladders are the channels and distributors which the ladders are sold through.

When the extension ladder is unextended and claw feet in place, the ladder comes to a rest on the feet instead of the locking clamp?

I assume this is intentional?
Asked by: plumsmooth
The ladder locks should always be fully engaged when the ladder is in use. When using the ladder with the feet in this position, the fly section should be raised one rung to fully engage the locks.

Different types of ladders are designed to keep you safe and productive when climbing or standing. Using the wrong style of ladder or simply ignoring the limitations of climbing equipment can result in a fall or serious injury.
Height is referring to the actual ladder height. Extension ladders should be 7 to 10 feet longer than the highest support or contact point, which may be the wall or roof line. The highest standing level is four rungs down from the top. The highest permitted standing level on a stepladder is two steps down from the top.

Reach height is the maximum reach assuming a 5’6” person with a vertical 12” reach.
Ladders are designed to safely hold up to a specific amount of weight. The Werner Performance System defines five different capacities using a color and star rating system. The Duty Rating is defined as the maximum safe load capacity of the ladder. A person’s fully clothed weight plus the weight of any tools and materials that are carried onto the ladder must be less than the load capacity.

Werner offers ladder made from fiberglass and aluminum. Each material has characteristics which make it best for certain applications, or one material may simply fit the personal preferences of the user. For example, if working around electricity users should select fiberglass products due to their non-conductive side rails.
