The D6232-2 fiberglass extension ladder has non-conductive rails making this ladder ideal for working near electricity. With a duty rating of 300 pounds, the D6232-2 is durable and long lasting. The exclusive ALFLO® rung joint means TWIST-PROOF® performance on the job. The TRACTION-TRED® D rungs are slip resistant and the side rails are interlocking. Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not impressed the metal guide that keeps the 2 pieces together jumped the track, basically nullifying the ability to extend it. Have tried multiple ways to fix it to no avail.I am a large man and need a large capacity extension ladder, but this has not worked out, for me.

D6232-2 vs D6232-3 retracted length

Hello, I'm considering the D6232-2 and the D6232-3 ladders. Both are 32 ft, 300 lb ladders but it's not clear what the fully retracted length is of each. Can you help? Thanks!

When the ladders are retracted for storage the D6232-2 is 16ft while the D6232-3 is 12ft tall.

D 6232-2 and D 6332-2 What is the difference between the ladders?what are the features?

The D6232-2 and the D6332-2 are equivalent ladders in features and weight rating. The D6232-2 is an orange fiberglass, and the D6332-2 is a red fiberglass.

Why does the dig in teeth at the foot of the ladder swivel to the front of the ladder, Why not have them swivel to the back.

Would this not cause the ladder to dig into the ground deeper, Not having the back part of the ladder holding the teeth back from digging in due to the front swivel. Just a thought. Normally drive pegs in front of the feet if I am climbing very heigh.

Due to the angle that the ladder sits and several tests, it was considered safer to have the teeth swivel to the front of the ladder.

When the extension ladder is unextended and claw feet in place, the ladder comes to a rest on the feet instead of the locking clamp?

I assume this is intentional?

The ladder locks should always be fully engaged when the ladder is in use. When using the ladder with the feet in this position, the fly section should be raised one rung to fully engage the locks.

Different types of ladders are designed to keep you safe and productive when climbing or standing. Using the wrong style of ladder or simply ignoring the limitations of climbing equipment can result in a fall or serious injury.
Height is referring to the actual ladder height. Extension ladders should be 7 to 10 feet longer than the highest support or contact point, which may be the wall or roof line. The highest standing level is four rungs down from the top. The highest permitted standing level on a stepladder is two steps down from the top.

Reach height is the maximum reach assuming a 5’6” person with a vertical 12” reach.
Ladders are designed to safely hold up to a specific amount of weight. The Werner Performance System defines five different capacities using a color and star rating system. The Duty Rating is defined as the maximum safe load capacity of the ladder. A person’s fully clothed weight plus the weight of any tools and materials that are carried onto the ladder must be less than the load capacity.

Werner offers ladder made from fiberglass and aluminum. Each material has characteristics which make it best for certain applications, or one material may simply fit the personal preferences of the user. For example, if working around electricity users should select fiberglass products due to their non-conductive side rails.
