D6220-2 20 ft Type IA Fiberglass D-Rung Extension Ladder is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not impressed the metal guide that keeps the 2 pieces together jumped the track, basically nullifying the ability to extend it. Have tried multiple ways to fix it to no avail.I am a large man and need a large capacity extension ladder, but this has not worked out, for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent quality with an excellent price. Purchased this a few months ago and appreciate the stability which standard aluminum ladders can't seem to provide.

Fiberglass issues

I have a Werner D6220-2 ladder, and I've noticed that the individual fiberglass threads on the rails are starting to become exposed and causing skin irritation on my arms, and even my hands. Is this fiberglass delamination, and is there anything that can be done to save this ladder?

what is the collapsed transport lenght of D6220-2?

Is this length the same as that of D6420-2, D6020-2? Thanks.
Asked by: Leu
The length of the extension ladders is the total length of the sections. A two piece extension ladder, that is 20 feet long, is made of two 10 foot sections. When the ladder closes, it fully closes down to 10 feet.

If the D6320-2 and the D6220-2 differ only in color, why does the D6320-2 not accept a 71-1 V-Rung?

Your description for the 71-1 does not include D6320-2 as a ladder that can accept that accessory.
Asked by: Buck
The 71-1 will work on the D6320-2 extension ladder.

When the extension ladder is unextended and claw feet in place, the ladder comes to a rest on the feet instead of the locking clamp?

I assume this is intentional?
Asked by: plumsmooth
The ladder locks should always be fully engaged when the ladder is in use. When using the ladder with the feet in this position, the fly section should be raised one rung to fully engage the locks.

Different types of ladders are designed to keep you safe and productive when climbing or standing. Using the wrong style of ladder or simply ignoring the limitations of climbing equipment can result in a fall or serious injury.
Height is referring to the actual ladder height. Extension ladders should be 7 to 10 feet longer than the highest support or contact point, which may be the wall or roof line. The highest standing level is four rungs down from the top. The highest permitted standing level on a stepladder is two steps down from the top.

Reach height is the maximum reach assuming a 5’6” person with a vertical 12” reach.
Ladders are designed to safely hold up to a specific amount of weight. The Werner Performance System defines five different capacities using a color and star rating system. The Duty Rating is defined as the maximum safe load capacity of the ladder. A person’s fully clothed weight plus the weight of any tools and materials that are carried onto the ladder must be less than the load capacity.

Werner offers ladder made from fiberglass and aluminum. Each material has characteristics which make it best for certain applications, or one material may simply fit the personal preferences of the user. For example, if working around electricity users should select fiberglass products due to their non-conductive side rails.
