is this a trench ladder or can you use this in side

So you can separate the two sections and only use one section for use in a trench for access?
Asked by: Safety4NV
The D6208-1 is a straight ladder that can be used for inside or outside applications. As you can see by the feet on this ladder, they are the standard extension ladder feet and not the specific feet used on our manhole ladders. The D6200-2 series of ladders can be separated to use the base section as a single straight ladder. If you were to use the base section in a trench we would suggest getting the AC78 foot kit.

What material is uesd to make the D-Rung ? I want to paint them for hunting.

I read on the werner website how to prepare the rails for painting. Very helpful. I am not sure how to prepare and paint the rungs.TY D6214-1 14ft type 1A fiber. D-Rung str, ladder.
Asked by: Mike
We do not suggest painting the rungs on any of our ladders. We only suggest coating the fiberglass on the ladder. We do not test coating the rungs so we cannot suggest painting them.

is this a trench ladder or can you use this in side

Asked by: safety
Both Straight Ladders and Manhole Style Ladders are often referred to as Trench Ladders. The D6200-1 series ladders are a series of straight ladders, that have slip resistant feet, and could be used indoors, if the proper ladder set up is used. The ladder would need a firm floor to set on that would not allow the feet to slide.

I posted a question asking the width at the top of the D6214-1,. While waiting for my response4, I called customer service, and the man I spoke with pulled up a drawing of the ladder, and told me that the outside width of the rails at the top was 71-3/4". Shortly afterwards, another answer appeared in this space, saying the width at the top was 19". In my application, I have room for only 18", so which is it?
Asked by: Jeff
It is 19". There is no dimension on the ladder that is 71 3/4"

Different types of ladders are designed to keep you safe and productive when climbing or standing. Using the wrong style of ladder or simply ignoring the limitations of climbing equipment can result in a fall or serious injury.
Height is referring to the actual ladder height. Extension ladders should be 7 to 10 feet longer than the highest support or contact point, which may be the wall or roof line. The highest standing level is four rungs down from the top. The highest permitted standing level on a stepladder is two steps down from the top.

Reach height is the maximum reach assuming a 5’6” person with a vertical 12” reach.
Ladders are designed to safely hold up to a specific amount of weight. The Werner Performance System defines five different capacities using a color and star rating system. The Duty Rating is defined as the maximum safe load capacity of the ladder. A person’s fully clothed weight plus the weight of any tools and materials that are carried onto the ladder must be less than the load capacity.

Werner offers ladder made from fiberglass and aluminum. Each material has characteristics which make it best for certain applications, or one material may simply fit the personal preferences of the user. For example, if working around electricity users should select fiberglass products due to their non-conductive side rails.
