The D548-2 48 ft aluminum extension ladders have a duty rating of 300 pounds and feature the exclusive ALFLO® rung joint for a TWIST-PROOF® performance every time. The end caps are mar resistant and notched for easy separation of sections. Both the base and the fly sections can be used separately. What is "MT" Series?

In a previous question a customer asked what the country of manufacture is? Werner answer "MT" ladders are made in Mexico. How do we know what an "MT" series ladder is? The Model is series D500. Where are the D500 Type 1AA ladders made?

i am trying to get the product weight of a 32 foot type IAA extra heavy duty industrial ladder with a rating of 375 pounds, this would include the levelers for the feet and the hooks for strand.

The D532-2 weighs 74 lbs. If you add the PK80-2 Levelers, they weigh 9.5 lbs. The cable hooks will not work for model number D532-2.

The length of a ladder is measured by the total length of the rails, both sections. If both sections of the ladder are 12 feet long, this would be a 24 foot ladder.

What are the biggest noticeable differences between the D540-2 and the D1540-2?

Both are rated to hold 300 lbs but I noticed the base on the D540-2 was 1" wider and that it weighs roughly 10 lbs more. What I am specifically wondering is will the D540-2 be more rigid when extended vs is comparable D1540-2 and if the D540-2 actually is rated for above 300 lbs but not quite enough to meet the 375 lb. rating of the next class above

The D540-2 is not going to be more rigid than the D1540-2. They are both manufactured by the same type of aluminum. The only big differences are that the D540-2 has internal guides that allow the fly section to slide smoothly on the base section. The D1540-2 uses guide brackets to allow the fly section to move with ease on the base section. The D500-2 series does go up to 375lbs when using the ladder in that series under 32ft. Both style of ladders are considered heavier duty extension ladders.

Different types of ladders are designed to keep you safe and productive when climbing or standing. Using the wrong style of ladder or simply ignoring the limitations of climbing equipment can result in a fall or serious injury.
Height is referring to the actual ladder height. Extension ladders should be 7 to 10 feet longer than the highest support or contact point, which may be the wall or roof line. The highest standing level is four rungs down from the top. The highest permitted standing level on a stepladder is two steps down from the top.

Reach height is the maximum reach assuming a 5’6” person with a vertical 12” reach.
Ladders are designed to safely hold up to a specific amount of weight. The Werner Performance System defines five different capacities using a color and star rating system. The Duty Rating is defined as the maximum safe load capacity of the ladder. A person’s fully clothed weight plus the weight of any tools and materials that are carried onto the ladder must be less than the load capacity.

Werner offers ladder made from fiberglass and aluminum. Each material has characteristics which make it best for certain applications, or one material may simply fit the personal preferences of the user. For example, if working around electricity users should select fiberglass products due to their non-conductive side rails.
