Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best ladder in the work place This type of adjustment allows for the worker to make a quick change to the extendable foot for safe usage. Just pull one pin, watch the level bubble and adjust the pin into a matching hole . I wish this was standard on a 32' ladder.

Dual Action Feet

Some pictures show the ladders feet in different positions. One foot is down and the other foot is up. Please explain the proper positioning of this ladders feet. Does the one foot have to be in the closed or up position when using the adjuster, while the other foot is deployed or down??
Asked by: Anonymous
When using the D1824-2EQ on hard or penetrable surfaces outside, you can place the foot in the "up and down" position to get a better grip when using. If you are using the ladder on a flat surface such a cement, blacktop, any kind of flooring, etc, it is most common to use the foot in the "flat position".

Which ladder jacks work with this ladder?

Asked by: Anonymous
You will need to check with your local OSHA, to see if it meets their requirements. The D1824-2 will work with any of our ladder jacks. The Equalizer will have to be approved by them.

can I use the just the bottom half of the 24' aluminum equalizer?

I want to take the top half of the ladder off and just use the side with the feet. Contractor says I have to buy just a straight ladder instead. Is this acceptable?
Asked by: Anonymous
We cannot suggest using the ladder as described. The D1824-2EQ is not to be separated and the base used solely. This has not been tested by our engineers so we cannot suggest using as described for safety purposes.

Different types of ladders are designed to keep you safe and productive when climbing or standing. Using the wrong style of ladder or simply ignoring the limitations of climbing equipment can result in a fall or serious injury.
Height is referring to the actual ladder height. Extension ladders should be 7 to 10 feet longer than the highest support or contact point, which may be the wall or roof line. The highest standing level is four rungs down from the top. The highest permitted standing level on a stepladder is two steps down from the top.

Reach height is the maximum reach assuming a 5’6” person with a vertical 12” reach.
Ladders are designed to safely hold up to a specific amount of weight. The Werner Performance System defines five different capacities using a color and star rating system. The Duty Rating is defined as the maximum safe load capacity of the ladder. A person’s fully clothed weight plus the weight of any tools and materials that are carried onto the ladder must be less than the load capacity.

Werner offers ladder made from fiberglass and aluminum. Each material has characteristics which make it best for certain applications, or one material may simply fit the personal preferences of the user. For example, if working around electricity users should select fiberglass products due to their non-conductive side rails.
