D1224-2 24 ft Type II Aluminum D-Rung Extension Ladder is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good, Light Ladder I needed an all purpose ladder for working around a two story home. As I'm getting older, I also needed it to be light. I'm 170 lbs, so I had good weight range for this ladder. The spring-loaded locks don't work smoothly, so keep an eye on those.

Rigging of Rope and Pulley

On an earlier model of this ladder that I owned, I would swear there were two pulleys, one at either end of the base section, and that the rope ran through both and was also secured to one of the lower rungs of the extension section. Is this correct? If so, why are the newer models not rigged this way and what is the best way to rig these newer, "one pulley" models?

Can the two sections of the D1228-2 be separated so that each 14 ft. piece could be used as a fixed length ladder?

The D1228-2 can not be separated into sections. The fly section does not have the proper footing to be used as a single ladder.

Adjustable EverLevel® leveling system

To Whom it May Concern, Do you hava an adjustable leveling system for the Model # D1232-32' Type II Aluminum Extention Ladder? Also, is there a stablizer bar with optional soft rubber end caps available for the stabilizer bar? Thank you,
Asked by: Bill
For the D1200-2 Aluminum Type II Extension Ladder, the proper leveling kit would be the PK80-2 Automatic Ladder Levelers. The AC96 Aluminum Stabilizer has rubber end caps that would protect the work surface.

Different types of ladders are designed to keep you safe and productive when climbing or standing. Using the wrong style of ladder or simply ignoring the limitations of climbing equipment can result in a fall or serious injury.
Height is referring to the actual ladder height. Extension ladders should be 7 to 10 feet longer than the highest support or contact point, which may be the wall or roof line. The highest standing level is four rungs down from the top. The highest permitted standing level on a stepladder is two steps down from the top.

Reach height is the maximum reach assuming a 5’6” person with a vertical 12” reach.
Ladders are designed to safely hold up to a specific amount of weight. The Werner Performance System defines five different capacities using a color and star rating system. The Duty Rating is defined as the maximum safe load capacity of the ladder. A person’s fully clothed weight plus the weight of any tools and materials that are carried onto the ladder must be less than the load capacity.

Werner offers ladder made from fiberglass and aluminum. Each material has characteristics which make it best for certain applications, or one material may simply fit the personal preferences of the user. For example, if working around electricity users should select fiberglass products due to their non-conductive side rails.
