AC19-2

AC19-2 Extension Ladder Covers is rated 2.5 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Leaves marks on interior wall I purchased these covers to protect an interior wall while painting. Werner says they are scuff-proof. The blue scuffed off on the previously painted wall. I had to wrap towels around them so they wouldn't leave blue marks. Something designed to protect the walls shouldn't damage them! I've now seen online where other people had the same problem.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from More variety is needed on those simple lader covers! Besides of many years of popularity of those covers they could be of various popular colors: red green, yellow, black, brown, orange, "silver", "golden", "bronze", apple green, florescent pink etc. They could be reflecting in a dark(whilst carried on a top of the vehicle) !They could be of better shape, because retractable ladders do not shrink to compact shape wearing them; it's not convenient for storage or transportation.Could be coming in different sizes.

Will these fit my three piece D1224-3 ladder?

I bought these extension covers (AC19-2) after checking the exceptions on the web page. I have a D1224-3 ladder and there is a channel on the second section that prevents the ladder from fully closing once the extension covers are on. Am I missing something or is this ladder another exception? If these don't work, are there covers that do?
Asked by: Bob
The AC19-2 Extension Ladder covers will fit on the D1200-3 ladder. However, when installed on the ladders, the covers will not allow the ladder to close fully. The ladder will have to close with just one rung extended. This would be the same for the two and three piece extension ladders.

How to get paint off the covers?

We have them on the end of our extension ladder and have gotten paint on them. They when I have moved the ladder, even though the paint on them is dry. When I go to move the ladder, it is stuck and then peels paint off our house.
Asked by: wbgus
Paint should be softened with warm water before scraping it off a rubber surface. To remove the paint, you need a clean sponge, a rag, warm water, a mild detergent, rubbing alcohol, and a scraper, a toothbrush or steel wool. The time required to remove the paint depends upon the size of the painted area.

MT-26?

Do you make a similar pad that I can use with my MT-26? I would like some good protection for my clients' walls when painting, etc.
Asked by: Matt
The AC19-2 is the only cover available for the extension ladders. Other options could be to use a stabilizer bar, with the rubber end caps would protect the walls. The stabilizer bar would also give a wider stance at the top of the ladder, where it is leaned against a wall. For the MT-26, the correct stabilizer bar is the AC96 aluminum stabilizer.

I bought a set of ladder covers and I pushed them on and they went on about half way and then they bump into nipples inside and stop. Is that OK?

Asked by: Jim
The extension ladder covers should be pushed all the way down onto the ladder rail This will prevent the covers from sliding off of the ladder while in use.

What is the part number for the smaller ladder cover? AC19-2 is too large/loose

Almost all pictures of your ladder covers show two different sizes, but Lowe's and Home Depot only list model AC19-2 which is too large and loose (falls off) for my ladder. Where can I get the smaller covers?
Asked by: GlenCo
This is the only ladder cover that we manufacture.

Different types of ladders are designed to keep you safe and productive when climbing or standing. Using the wrong style of ladder or simply ignoring the limitations of climbing equipment can result in a fall or serious injury.
Height is referring to the actual ladder height. Extension ladders should be 7 to 10 feet longer than the highest support or contact point, which may be the wall or roof line. The highest standing level is four rungs down from the top. The highest permitted standing level on a stepladder is two steps down from the top.

Reach height is the maximum reach assuming a 5’6” person with a vertical 12” reach.
Ladders are designed to safely hold up to a specific amount of weight. The Werner Performance System defines five different capacities using a color and star rating system. The Duty Rating is defined as the maximum safe load capacity of the ladder. A person’s fully clothed weight plus the weight of any tools and materials that are carried onto the ladder must be less than the load capacity.

Werner offers ladder made from fiberglass and aluminum. Each material has characteristics which make it best for certain applications, or one material may simply fit the personal preferences of the user. For example, if working around electricity users should select fiberglass products due to their non-conductive side rails.
